Short version: the extension keeps everything on your computer. The website uses no cookies or analytics. The API processes your images in memory and doesn't store them. The details are below.
The browser extension
The extension does not send anything to us. It works entirely in your browser and on your computer:
-
Challenge images are sent only to the HoneySolver engine running on your
own computer (address
127.0.0.1), which may download the challenge images from hCaptcha to score them. - On web pages, it checks whether an hCaptcha widget is present and whether it has been solved. It does not read or store anything else on the page.
- Stored in your browser: your settings, solve counters, and a short debug log of recent challenge decisions (prompt text and the structure of the challenge's markup, with no images). This stays in your browser unless you choose to copy it with "Copy debug report".
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party fonts.
- Our web server records standard request logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser user agent) to keep the site secure and to apply rate limits. Logs rotate automatically, and old ones are discarded.
- The demo page embeds an hCaptcha widget, which is provided by hCaptcha and covered by hCaptcha's privacy policy. The demo's playground sends the image you choose only to the engine on your own computer, never to us.
The API
- Images and prompts you send are processed in memory to produce an answer. They are not written to disk, logged, or used to train models.
- Usage records: for each request we store the time, the result status, the number of images and the processing time, linked to your API key. These run your quota and help us catch abuse.
- API keys are stored only as a one-way hash, together with the name and limits you were issued.
We have not yet set an automatic deletion period for usage records. You can ask us to delete yours at any time (see below).
Sharing
We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers. Data is handled by our hosting provider only to run the service, and disclosed to others only where the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
You can remove the extension at any time, which deletes everything it stored in your browser. For the API, you can ask us for a copy of your usage records, or ask us to delete them and your key, by emailing privacy@honeybee.wtf. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and you can use them through the same address.
Children
HoneySolver is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes to what we collect will also be noted on the homepage.
